1. Higher rates and/or Transient
capture require addition of PCI expansion card hardware at extra cost.
The added channels cannot be used for streaming and the streaming channels
cannot be used for fast transient capture.
2. Competitors’ data
is stored to a proprietary disk in proprietary format not visible to
Windows. Transcription is required before data can be utilized outside
of vendor’s own application, which becomes very time-consuming
on large files.
3. “Y” indicates
that a real-time algorithm records (at least) maxima and minima of blocks
of high-speed streaming data for accurate waveform displays at the monitor’s
resolution, and fast overviews when large files are opened for viewing.
Hi-Techniques name for this technology is ClearVU.
4. Optional Analog filter cards
may be added to transient capture cards, which are themselves an extra-cost
option.
5. All information is taken
from published PDF product brochures from the respective manufacturers’
web sites in October 2004. Stated step response error is inherent in
commercial sigma-delta ADC components.
