Wired or Wireless connectivity
The Sentinel’s internal Ethernet TCP/IP structure is perfectly suited to distributed acquisition and control. Acquisition modules can be connected directly by cable at distances up to 100 meters per leg, or combined with Transceiver modules to allow up to 2 km wireless communication. Repeater modules can be used to extend distances even further. Data from remote modules is precisely time synchronized for simultaneous data acquisition across the distributed network. Proprietary bi-directional communication technology incorporating precision timestamps, large RAM buffers and full handshaking ensures 100% error-free transmission at data rates up to 4 Mbit/s. Timestamped data packets are transferred directly in real-time to a Windows PC or stored locally to flash memory for later transfer.

Intelligent Power Management
The Sentinel’s low power design enables the system to be powered from 100 – 240 Vac, 9 – 72 Vdc, battery and even solar cell supplies. Battery modules up to 80 watt-hours can power a typical system for a full day at top speeds. And programmable shutdown and wake-up modes further extend battery performance by placing the unit in a “sleep” mode between acquisitions.

Precision timestamps and full handshaking guarantee error-free transmission
